heart of Sörmland - Experience living in traditional timber lodges
Welcome to an authentic 17th century environment.
At Grytsberg, you can stay in traditional, newly renovated timber houses belonging to the old Grytsberg country manor or in the pleasant lodgings of the manor’s East Wing.
The houses have rustic terraces and each is located in a pleasantly secluded area with lovely views of the lake Kyrksjön and surrounding pastures and meadows.
The distance to the estate’s private beach is no more than 100 metres where you are free to use the bathing hut and its twenty metre pontoon.
Rental boats are available to reach some great fishing spots
in any of the five
adjacent lakes while canoes can be rented through Solbacka Sport
& Konferens. The estate’s landscape and nature offer perfect spots for barbeques, relaxation and games.
We also arrange parties such as weddings in our rustic functions spaces located in the converted barn.
A public beach, sports facilities, a local history centre and historic church are all within walking distance. The Solbacka Gnesta country club’s beautiful golf course is within sight from the manor’s courtyard.
Solbacka Sport & Konferens also offers tennis courts and running tracks. Horse-riding on the estate can be arranged.
While maintaining their unique Swedish rustic characteristics the lodges are equipped with modern facilities. Each one has a kitchen and a stove, a refrigerator and a freezer, a
tiled bathroom with WC. There are between four and nine beds per room which can be let per night or per week.The East Wing is available all year round while the timber houses are designed for summer. Out of concern for guests with allergies smoking and pets are not allowed in any of the cabins.
The nearest supermarket, petrol station and post office are located in Stjärnhov, approximately 3 kilometers away.

Getting there
Grytsberg is located 3 kilometers northwest of Stjärnhov, 1 hour driving distance (85 km) from Stockholm or 1 hour with train from Stockholm to Gnesta, then local bus (20 minutes) to Stjärnhov, where we are happy to pick you up.
Driving directions from Stockholm:
E4 highway towards Södertälje. Pass Södertälje and exit by Järna driving towards Gnesta then road 57 towards Björnlunda and Stjärnhov. In Stjärnhov – take a right under the railway towards Solbacka. By Gryts kyrka – red estate on the left - Grytsbergs Säteri.
Driving from the South:
Road 57 Katrineholm - Flen - Sparreholm - Stjärnhov.
